What Boody does well
- Seamfree construction. Boody knits its undershorts as a tube, so there are no side seams, and the gusset seams are flat. Ours are seamless at the back and sides with a flat front seam, so if you want no front seam, Boody's is the one to choose.
- A wide range. Briefs, bikinis, g-strings, period pants and undershorts, plus bras, loungewear and a men's range. We make one style of underwear.
- Smaller sizes and a longer leg. XS fits a UK 6, and the 10 inch undershort sits at the bottom of the thigh, above the knee, which is longer than our 9 inch.
- A lower price for one pair, before delivery. £18 for the 6 inch undershort, or £15.95 in Shell, against £20 for ours. With £4.50 delivery on an order under £45, one Boody pair costs £22.50 delivered, or £20.45 in Shell; ours is £20 with free delivery.

What might not suit you about Boody

- Sizes stop at UK 22. 4XL is the largest women's size, a UK 22 on Boody's chart, for hips up to 149cm.
- The undershort fabric includes 15% nylon. It is 79% viscose made from bamboo, 15% nylon and 6% elastane.
- Opened underwear cannot be returned unless it is faulty. Returns are within 30 days of delivery, unworn, with a £3.50 fee unless you added Return Coverage. The Comfort Guarantee covers only your first single pair, and only its comfort, not its length, width or colour.
- Free UK delivery only over £45. Below that, standard delivery is £4.50.
- Some wearers say the 6 inch rolls slightly. Boody's AI review summary for the 6 inch undershort notes that customers observed the shorts “feel very comfortable when you put them on, but roll slightly”.
- Three colours in the 6 inch undershort. Black, Shell and white, against eight in ours.
What we will not tell you
We will not tell you our fabric is softer than Boody's. Softness is personal, and we have not worn the two side by side for this review. We will not tell you either brand's bamboo viscose is antibacterial or hypoallergenic: viscose is a regenerated fibre, those are not claims we can support for our own, and Boody's undershort page does not make them either. And we will not guess where Boody's underwear is made, because its UK website did not say on the pages we checked.

The guide asks you to measure the narrowest part of your waist and the widest part of your hips, and if you fall between two sizes, to “choose the smaller size for a firmer fit, or size up for a more relaxed feel”.

Is Boody a British company, and where is it made?
No, Boody is Australian. It was founded in Sydney in 2012 by two friends, David Greenblo and Neil Midalia, and it sells in the UK through Boody UK, its own website at boody.co.uk, with delivery by Royal Mail tracked service.
Boody's UK website does not say which country its underwear is made in on the product, about and sustainability pages we checked. It does say it only works with factories that are Fair Trade certified. If the country of manufacture matters to you, check the care label or ask Boody before you buy.
Boody returns policy, and how it compares
Boody takes returns within 30 days of delivery, but opened underwear cannot be returned unless it is faulty. Items must be unworn, unwashed and in their original condition, £3.50 comes off your refund unless you added Boody's Return Coverage, and the delivery you paid is not refunded. You can take store credit instead, valid for 12 months.
The exception is the Comfort Guarantee. If you are not happy with the comfort of your first single pair of Boody underwear or socks bought online, Boody refunds it, as long as you tell Boody within 60 days of delivery and have tried them for at least 30 days. It excludes bundles, does not refund shipping, and covers comfort only, not length, width or colour.
