How to Prevent and Remove Thigh Chafing. Chub Rub Free Summer.

Summer is right around the corner so show me the garden parties and pass me a drink. If you're like us and many other women, you may be dreading the thought of thigh chafing. Chub rub can be extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing for us at Flissie, not to mention frustrating. In this blog post, we will discuss the symptoms of thigh chafing, the causes and the solutions to remove that annoying chub rub from your life. Pause on that drink, it's time to get into it.

Thigh chafing can present itself in a few different ways. For some women, they only experience chafing on the inner thighs while others might get it on the outer thighs as well. The symptoms of thigh chafing are pretty straightforward: itching, burning and/or raw skin. If you have ever experienced any of these, you know it sucks and can turn your day into an inconvenience.

So what causes chub rub? The main cause of chafing is friction. When your skin rubs against something else for an extended period of time, it can cause irritation and eventually lead to chafing. This can happen when you're wearing clothes that are too tight or made of materials that don't breathe well. If you're sweating, like we all do in summer, that contributes to the problem even more.

There's several ways to combat thigh chafing, the first is moisture wicking clothing. Wicking fabrics help to draw the sweat away from your skin so it can evaporate quicker. This helps to reduce the amount of friction and prevents chafing. Bamboo fabric is moisture wicking, temperature controlling and breathable so this will help keep your skin stay cool and dry.

Another solution is to apply a barrier cream/gel to your skin before you put on your clothes. This creates a barrier between your skin and whatever you're wearing so helps to reduce the friction. A recommendation from us is using a barrier cream with all natural ingredients like shea butter or coconut oil because it helps to soothe the skin while creating that barrier.

Stay cool by keeping hydrated. Water benefits the body in so many ways and one of those ways is by keeping the skin moisturized from the inside out. When your skin is properly hydrated, it's less likely to chafe. We recommend drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, more if you can.

The last solution is one you might not have thought of and that's women's boxer shorts with an anti chafing longer leg. Yep, women's boxers can help prevent thigh chafing. They remove all friction with a longer leg that creates a barrier but also provides added comfort. Women's boxers look great with summer dresses, under a pair of shorts and feel great whilst walking.

Chafing can be such a pain but we've got you. Try out these tips and we're certain you'll have a chafe-free summer.

Soft, breathable, comfy

I bought the black 9-inch leg in a large to accommodate my pregnancy bump. They are really silky soft and breathable, exactly what I wanted to avoid chafing. They are a little loose on the thigh as I am usually a medium, but it doesn't make them any less comfortable and means I will hopefully be able to wear them throughout the pregnancy and post-partum. If they made a version for periods that was super absorbent or had a pouch for a reusable pad, I would buy even more.

Perfect anti-chafe shorts!

Really soft, light weight boxer shorts, they come to a good length to prevent chafe and are a lot cooler than my sports shorts
